About The Event
We would like to share a workforce training opportunity for working adults and high school seniors in our community.
We are launching a three-month, college-credit-eligible nuclear workforce program designed to fill a critical training gap. This program prepares participants for high-demand roles at Hanford and across the nuclear industry, with entry-level wages starting around $35/hr and experienced professionals earning $50+/hr. Overtime can exceed $100/hr.
Classes begin in early March. Instruction is led by a doctoral-level professor and an assistant instructor who is a Navy Nuclear graduate and current health physicist. This pathway includes Radiological Control Technician (RCT) / Health Physics Technician (HPT).
No traditional college degree is required. Students earn regional college credit at no extra cost—the credit value equals the course tuition, allowing immediate workforce entry. Many employers offer tuition reimbursement for continued education with minimal expense.
