About The Event

We would like to share a workforce training opportunity for working adults and high school seniors in our community.

We are launching a three-month, college-credit-eligible nuclear workforce program designed to fill a critical training gap. This program prepares participants for high-demand roles at Hanford and across the nuclear industry, with entry-level wages starting around $35/hr and experienced professionals earning $50+/hr. and potential overtime exceeding $100/hr.

Classes begin in early June. Instruction is led by a doctoral-level professor and an assistant instructor who is a Navy Nuclear graduate and current health physicist. This pathway includes Radiological Control Technician (RCT) / Health Physics Technician (HPT).

No traditional college degree is required. Students earn regional college credit at no extra cost—the credit value equals the course tuition, allowing immediate workforce entry. Many employers offer tuition reimbursement for continued education with minimal expense.

Eligible participants include high school seniors (may enroll prior to graduation)…
